G'day, James here, proud founder of Pelago Tackle and inventor of the Rod Lock. As a young fella, I was fortunate enough to spend part of my youth growing up around the Whitsunday Islands, giving me access to some of the most pristine ocean environments a kid could ever ask for.

Fishing around the Whitsunday Islands, I loved every minute of it. I had access to some of the most pristine ocean environments and conditions imaginable. I was fishing every chance I got, and loving every minute of it.
"I realised how bulky and impractical gimbals are"
In my adult years, I was lucky enough to score a gig at a charter company in WA, where I was lucky enough to see all the latest and greatest fishing gear. It was at this time I realised how bulky and impractical gimbals are. After a lot of beers, money and tears, I eventually developed the Rod Lock. I've aimed to create the best alternative to a gimbal on the market.

We live to fish, and don't pretend to do it. This is who we are. This is what we do. We're on the water, thinking up the next product, testing others' inventions, and constantly trying to push the game of fishing to new heights.

We don't use stock imagery or videos in our website. Everything is original content, captured to demonstrate that the products are real and we're real. We aim for transparency in all that we do.
Our Own Invention
The Rod Lock is our own invention (created by our founder, James Beaumont-Jones). We stock some items that weren't invented by Pelago Tackle ®, but try to ensure they fit our vision of being "one-of-a-kind".
